This website was an exercise for me to play with valid html and css. I also did not want to use any frames or tables for the whole site. But then I was searching around, and there are people who actually design website themes and post them as open source website development. I found one that really looked like what I wanted and tried it out. So I can't take any credit for having designed this site and mastered css in the process. This theme is called Blue Haze which was developed by haran and I encourage you to check it out.
As far as content, I used text and links from my old college page. I use Quanta Plus as my editor and I highly recommend it. Its a KDE app that I run on Linux or my MacOS X machine. I use CVS for version control.
Pretty much rewrote the whole website from scratch, using the theme talked about above. Moved all of the picture galleries into a new format. Now I use a program called JAlbum to generate the photo albums.
Moved everything over to the a webserver. It is a dedicated linux box with a few friends using it. Eric Pollmann is the admin. You can check it out at www.302easyst.net.
Registered hamptopia.net and set up the website. The site was actually hosted on a friends system called trieb.net, and DNS forwarding sent people to his machine.
